If you have holds on the shelf, they will be held until we reopen. A Finer End, set in Glastonbury, England, is one of my favorite three or four in this very good series. The setting is part of why I favor the book, because Glastonbury is a tremendously interesting and historical place. The author always involves the reader in her settings through her descriptions and the great maps printed in the end papers.5/5(2).

Glastonbury is revered as the site of an ancient abbey, the mythical burial place of King Arthur and Brand: Bantam. Other readers, however, have pointed out that Book 24 ties up a crucial loose end: the grief of Odysseus’s father, Laertes. By saving Odysseus’s reunion with Laertes until last, The Odyssey suggests that no relationship—not even the relationship of husband and wife—is more important than the bond between father and son.
